Skies are fair for Bed Race 2018
The omens look grand for the 2018 staging of the Great Knaresborough Bed Race, the largest community event held on the public roads in the North of England.
Despite some extraordinary hurdles this year, all arrangements are in place for a wonderful day on Saturday 9 June. This website has details of park and ride, road closures, the final list of runners and riders, a map, this year's theme, the programme of the day and the official printed Programme. Please find out what you need on the site and use the 'Contact' page to ask for more details.
It is all for charity and has been organised entirely by volunteers from the Knaresborough Lions and friends, each giving up their own time. It is the 53rd annual incarnation of this great pageant and athletic challenge - an event closely associated with Knaresborough, and one which draws spectators from all over the country while exciting interest from media at home and abroad.
The World Cup organisers have wisely agreed to put back a week this year's competition so that it doesn't clash with Bed Race, and we would like to show our appreciation for this decision.
As it is a family day we ask everyone, even if late in the game, to remember that it is a fun, warm-hearted and good-neighbourly event. Stay safe and enjoy the day.
