Popular Culture Theme for 2015

The theme for the 50th Great Knaresborough Bed Race has been announced - 'Popular Culture from the Past 50 Years'. The Race will be run on 13 June 2015, the second Saturday as has been the tradition for the past half-century. Entry forms will appear on this site on 1 January 2015 with forms, fees and all relevant details to be received by the organisers, the Knaresborough Lions by the end of February 2015. We have picked a theme for the 50th Bed Race that will give teams full scope for their creative imaginations. A real highlight for many spectators is the gathering of the dressed beds at the Castle in the morning and the parade through Knaresborough from 1 pm of the teams in fancy dress, the adorned beds in the theme of the years and the hundreds of helpers, dancers and marching bands who also don costumes in the spirit of the event. The wider the array of dress the greater the spectacle.
